In 2026, The Motherhood Group marks 10 years of impact in supporting Black mothers and families across the UK. What began as a community-led initiative has grown into a national platform connecting mothers, communities, healthcare, organisations, charities and leaders committed to improving Black maternal health and wellbeing. For a decade, our work has focused on: •• Community-led and culturally responsive peer support. • National conferences and CPD training across community, healthcare and organisations. • Strategic partnerships with NHS trusts, universities, charities and corporates. • Research and evidence-building shaping national understanding of Black maternal health. • Digital innovation expanding access to support and connection. • Policy engagement with commissioners, MPs and system leaders. • Visibility and narrative change influencing media, public discourse and sector practice.
